What is Travis Heights?

Travis Heights is an old historic neighborhood that anchors 78704 or what the locals call 04. Walking / biking distance from downtown, Travis Heights stretches from Riverside / Lady Bird Lake to the North, Oltorf to the south, S. Congress to the west and IH35 to the east.
It is trendy city, sought after by urban professionals, .com retirees, dog walkers, musicians, lesbians and every metro-sexual in between. Some rental, some original owners but mostly expensive and uber-cool. Travis Heights got its name from its beginnings int he 1880’s with the hills rising off the river and views of downtown and the Capital.
Anchored by Stacy Park (running down the middle) and Congress Avenue (or SoCo), the entertainment district to the west, Travis Heights is possibly “the” neighborhood.
Prices range from the mid to high $200k’s (that would be a tiny condo) to over a million with median around $500k and average around $600k.
