Who’s the right realtor for you?

A while back some brilliant person posted the following on Craigslist: ”tell me why you should be my listing agent…”. Here was my reply.

I may be the right agent for you and you may be the right seller for me. It depends on where your house is, what your goals are and the price and time frame in which you want to sell your house. No realtor is the right realtor for every seller. That said, having been in the business for 8 years with a vibrant results-oriented team of 5 professionals, we’ve had great success with our proven systems designed to sell your house quick for the highest price possible. Real estate is a business and you need results.

Attached to this reply is our listing packet for your review. It outlines our marketing program which includes extensive online visibility, virtual tour, automatic realtor showing response system, an (800) number system to allow our buyer specialists to respond to potential buyers quickly. In all, a robust program designed to provide you with the latest tools to sell your house quickly. We think you should get all the tools for 6%.

I would be happy to discuss all of this in more detail with you over the phone or in person. I think it is important that you trust and connect with your realtor and important that we both feel your objectives will be met; in this sense, we’re both interviewing each other. Please feel free to reach me at the numbers below and we can get the interview process started.

…. I never heard from the brilliant seller but I respect the approach. It’s an interview process. Find the right match and a qualified professional.

In laymen’s terms, Real Estate is the business of helping people buy and sell property. As a real estate agent, your job is not always that simple, though. It is important for a real estate agent to be very well versed in their trade; this involves knowing the laws of the real estate business in and out. They have to be able to successfully appraise the value of a home or a piece of land (to some extent, there are professional appraisers that can be hired to do a more exact estimation of the value). They must be good with people, amiable, and honest. Never underestimate the power of people and their ability to read others, especially since most times when people are in the process of selecting a real estate agent they are usually in an intentional, purposeful state of judgment. It is important to establish a relationship built on trust between the prospective buyer or seller and the real estate agent.Choose someone who will work hard to promote a property for sale, and pour over listings to find you your perfect home. Choose a Realtor who is passionate in his work and wants you to be satisfied with the home buying or selling process when complete. The distinction between helpful and intrusive is a fine line! Helpful provides insight when needed. Intrusive provides endless insights and smothers the consumer with unnecessary information.Choose a Realtor who will give you personal service from the beginning to the end of the buying or selling process! Your home is your most prized possession, do not let it get lost in a “See of Listings.”
