Edgewick- New Homes 5 Minutes from Downtown

April 29, 2008 at 7:03 pm 3 comments

With home prices an average of $200+ per sqft in Austin it’s nice to find an option so close to downtown, SOCO and St. Edwards that starts out at a mere $144 psf. Edgewick is a City of Austin Green Builder Neighborhood of freestanding condos just East of I35 and South of Oltorf on the corner of Parker and Wickshire.

Built by Newmark homes the 290 gated home community consists of 2-story cottages and carriage houses each with it’s own garage plus a community pool, clubhouse and designated green space. The homes are less than 3 miles to downtown Austin and 1 1/2 miles south of Town Lake. Definitely a great investment for parents of college students, first-time homebuyers and young professionals. The builder is still in the process of completing section one but plans to open section two soon. An awesome opportunity and definitely the most bang for your buck this close to downtown!

Distintive home features include but are not limited to: •6 designer floorplans • Ceramic tile in kitchen/breakfast, entry, and bath wet areas. • Fibercement exterior wrap includes: all siding, soffit and facia, for durable low maintenance exteriors. • Rounded sheetrock corners throughout, includes windows. • DELTA™ Pressure Balancing shower valves are scald resistant shower faucets that prevent “shower shock”. • G.E.™ Energy efficient appliances. • Kitchen ventilation removes stale air and pollutants from cooking areas and vents to outside. • 36″ raised panel maple cabinets with crown moulding. (The design center has some awesome and trendy upgrades available to personalize each unit. Everything from designer colors to glass tiles and marble.)

I just started a blog that you may find interesting – http://www.onegallondrive.com It is about destinations that you can get to and from with one gallon of gas or less. It sounds like these houses are a one gallon commute – a commuter’s dream.
